The Miles

sr013 The Miles

Making 1999 sound like 1969, this pop-rock gem from the now defunct band The Miles was part of my soundtrack to the early 2000's. Beatles-esque melodies over soft psychedelia make for an enjoyable listen on any stony afternoon. If you like jangly rhythms, big drums and guitar solos that turn into passing trains, this album is right up your alley.

Originally released on Lunacy Records. Produced with Dave Copenhaver at the legendary Studio Seven in Oklahoma City.

Beats and Streets of Enid w/ Roach Killaz

sr012 Beats & Streets of Enid / Money Banks

The Beats and Streets of Enid have been said to be the NWA of Enid, Oklahoma: raw, brash and unapologetic in their ways of presenting everyday life. Lyrics of illicit behavior and personal tragic memoirs juxtaposed with stripped down, to the point hiphop production make for a listening experience of seemingly documentary presentation.
-
The Roach Killaz is a four-headed hydra of grandiose proportions. Money Banks, SKZA, Maniac Killa and Wack Man form this horror/gangsta/pimp/crazy rap squad that is sure to raise an eyebrow on the most self-proclaimingly unoffendable of heads.

Not for everyone and certainly not for those under the age of influence.

Black Friday EP

sr011 Brian Cagle - Black Friday EP

Strictly for true lovers of honest artistry. Seven in your face acoustic versions of Coyote Teeth's current set. Only a small chapter in the testament of Brian Cagle's songwriting- including my personal favorite Adagio and a proper version of Rocky Votolato's Postcard From Kentucky. Recorded the day after Thanksgiving 2009 in the House of Walkingstick living room.
Catch Coyote Teeth around the OKC metro area sometime soon.

Unabashed Homages

sr010 Brad Fielder Demonstationals Vol.1 • 1997-2009

This nearly 80 minute collection of home recordings represents a 12 year spectrum of influence and imitation. From hissy 4 track country ramblings and space rock freak outs to subtle folk stabs and poignant biographies- with tongue working a hole through my cheek the whole way.
A whole bunch of songs I want Wampus to hear.
Enjoy with a six pack of tall boys or a fresh can of Glade®.

The Hex

sr009 The Hex

Just listed as #51 in the oklahomarock.com top 100 Oklahoma albums of the 00's! If you missed this release in 2005, now is your chance to catch up.
The Hex was an early incarnation of a talented circle of friends which also spawned The Grammarians, Brother Gruesome and El Tin Fun.
This self titled, self produced recording is the slick and sexy sister to their always outrageous, high energy live shows. Equal parts coo and climax to an effective degree. Highly recommended.

Waxing Cycle EP

sr006 Metered Spirits

from the Metered Spirits website:
The Metered Spirits first produced a short film, The Metered Spirits Waxing Cycle, in which the musical debut was made. They formed a proper band with Eric on guitar and lead vocals, Lindsay on keyboards and vocals and Brad on drums and vocals. Sometime after that John came along as the bass player and was well received by his new musical peers. Now the Metered Spirits no longer exist as a band unit. Eric and John live in the New York metropolitan area while Lindsay and Brad reside in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. All four members still love each other dearly.

Music For The Greatest Depression Ever

sr005 KKSBAF

This 5 track mail out special package was limited to an edition of 40. Picking up where Magic for Fabulous Beasts... left off, KKSBAF expands their canon of ambiguous story telling through esoteric soundscapes. The title track begins with a bleak piano and percussion line stating the theme which expands into a syncopated micro-orchestra cacophony- deconstructing into a sort of random call and response decrescendo. Musique Concrete, or simply fun with sound and rhythm? Enjoyable, none the less.

The Shit Collection

sr004A~F Walabama

What can be said about a 6 disc colossus known as The Shit Collection? This is 7 hours of music from B. Rieves, known musically around Austin, Texas and the OKC metro area as Walabama.
Think of grandpa without his teeth, trying to reprimand you for tracking in mud while detuning his guitar to the beat of the tv losing signal. Or Bob Dylan with marbles in his mouth trying to play along with a tourette's syndrome patient off their meds.

Mind Control Propaganda

sr003 Ninja Santa

Compiled from over 2 year's worth of unremembered recordings, found sound and drug addled subliminal messages- Mind Control Propaganda is a barrage of broken beats, electronic frenzy and trashed turntablism sampled, chopped, screwed, sliced and diced into a sound collage album like no other. Think of DJ Shadow interpreting a Basquiat painting based on a William S. Burroughs short story.
Original production credited to Ninja Santa in 2001.

sr002 SlamDance/Oi!

Not your grandmother's punk rock album. SlamDance/Oi's 10 tracks of brash guitars, pumping beats and unabashed vocals will have you screaming "Fuck You!" in 13 minutes or less.
This album is a firecracker in your mom's ass.

The Amuser Presents...CHINESE FOOD

sr001 The Amuser

An homage to the wacky, dubby reggae of the 1970s- heavily leaning towards a Lee Perry/Mighty Upsetter vibe. CHINESE FOOD is a concept album for the devoted connoisseur who likes a slice of cheese on his ramen.
The Amuser presents 11 inspired tracks celebrating the Americanized Asian buffet dining experience.
